We're delighted that you have visited our web site. Our objective at the Lean Management Institute of India is to spread, describe, research and teach lean thinking. The Lean Global Network founded br Dr. James P. Womack and Prof. Daniel T Jones to which we are affiliated have derived these from Toyota, which derived many of them in turn from Henry Ford's breakthroughs at Highland Park early in the 20th Century. We are chartered to run workshops & conferences, distribute books, workbooks & training kits and conduct research to help companies transform themselves into lean enterprises, based on the principles of the Toyota Business System. Toyota has proved that there is nothing Japanese about their production system by successfully transplanting their approach to plants in the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia including India. Our conferences and workshops help managers and executives develop the leadership skills and  behaviors that sustain lean enterprises.  We aim to bring together for mutual support managers applying Lean Thinking in a growing range of industries across the Indian subcontinent and South Asia and connect them to the global experience.
